How much weight can you lose with berberine?
Realistically, berberine is associated with about 2 kg (around 4 to 5 pounds) of average weight loss over roughly 8 to 12 weeks in clinical trials, on top of any diet and activity changes.
Some people lose more, many lose little or nothing, and the effect is far smaller than prescription weight-loss medications deliver.
What is the right dose of berberine?

Which is better, berberine or metformin?
For blood-sugar control, one 2008 trial found berberine lowered glucose and HbA1c about as much as metformin in people with type 2 diabetes, but that does not make berberine a substitute.
